Type 2 Diabetes

This study aims to find out how safe a study medicine is and how well people tolerate it. We will also look at how the medicine works in the body of someone with type 2 diabetes over time and how it affects a specific protein in the blood.

What does the study involve?
You will take an oral capsule of the study medicine once a day for 28 days. You may also take a placebo, which is a capsule that looks like the study medicine but has no active ingredients, once a day for 28 days.

Who can participate?
Inclusion Criteria: To take part in this study, you should: * Be generally healthy, except for type 2 diabetes. * Have had type 2 diabetes for at least 1 year. * Have a baseline HbA1C level of 10% or less. * Have a stable weight, meaning you haven’t gained or lost more than 5 kg for at least 3 months before the study starts. * Be managing your type 2 diabetes through lifestyle changes or with up to 3 stable oral medications (no changes in the last 3 months). * Have a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 40. Exclusion Criteria: You cannot participate if you: * Are allergic to the study medicine or similar treatments, including any inactive ingredients or the placebo. * Have a history of severe heart problems. * Have had heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months. * Have a history of serious allergies or severe reactions to medications or foods. * Have type 1 diabetes or other types of diabetes. * Have had serious complications from diabetes. * Have had weight loss surgery or plan to during the study period.
