About the Study
We’re looking for about 230 participants who will be randomly assigned to receive either the treatment or a placebo (a harmless solution). You may receive the treatment through an injection in your muscle or a quick push into your vein, based on what the doctor thinks is best. Here’s what to expect: * Up to 2 visits to confirm eligibility and receive the treatment, including a stool sample collection; * Up to 7 follow-up visits; * Regular check-ins from our team, starting weekly and then monthly; * You’ll keep track of your health in an electronic diary.
What does the study involve?
You will receive a single dose of the treatment through an injection in your muscle or a quick push into your vein. Some participants will receive a placebo (a harmless solution) in the same way.

What to expect

Placebo
You may receive a placebo (a look-alike with no active medicine).
Which treatment you get
Chosen at random. Neither you nor the study team will know which treatment you get.
Who can participate?
We’re looking for adults aged 18 and older who: * Have had a recent C. difficile infection with specific symptoms and a positive test result; * Are starting treatment with antibiotics for this infection; * Weigh at least 35 kg (about 77 lbs). Not everyone will qualify, so if you think you might fit, apply to find out more!
